This policy explains what information Fathom ("the app", "we", "us") collects, why, and what your options are. Fathom is developed by an individual developer based in the United Kingdom (contact details below), not a registered company.

Information we collect

When you create an account and use the app, we store:

• Account information: your email address and password (stored as a securely hashed value, never in plain text).
• Profile information: height, age, biological sex, and activity level, used only to estimate your calorie and macronutrient needs.
• Health and fitness data: body weight entries, workout history (exercises, sets, reps, weights used), workout templates you create, and goals you set.
• Food diary entries: foods you log and their nutrition values.
• AI coach chat messages: the messages you send to and receive from the in-app AI coach.
• Subscription status: whether you have an active Fathom Pro subscription, managed via Apple's In-App Purchase system and RevenueCat.
• Basic technical data: standard request logs and, if enabled, crash/error reports, used only to keep the app working correctly.

We do not collect your location, contacts, or photos, and we do not use advertising identifiers — there are no ads in this app.

How we use your information

Your data is used solely to provide and improve the app's own features: tracking your progress, personalizing the AI coach's responses to your actual training and goals, and calculating nutrition/calorie estimates. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers.

Third-party services we use

Some features necessarily involve sending relevant data to third-party services that process it on our behalf, under their own privacy and security practices:

• Google Gemini — powers the AI coach chat. Your chat messages and the fitness context needed to answer them (e.g. recent workouts, goals) are sent to Gemini to generate a response.
• Apple / RevenueCat — process Fathom Pro subscription purchases. We receive confirmation of your subscription status, not your payment details.
• Render and Supabase — our hosting and database providers, who store the data described above on our behalf.
• Sentry — may be used for crash and error reporting, to help us find and fix bugs. This does not include your health or fitness data.

Data retention and deletion

Your data is kept for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app (Settings → Delete Account) — this immediately and permanently removes your workout history, weigh-ins, food log, goals, and account details from our systems.

Data security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) between the app and our servers, and securely hashed password storage. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to certain processing. You can exercise most of these directly in the app (editing your profile, deleting entries, or deleting your account entirely), or by contacting us using the details below.

Children's privacy

Fathom is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the "last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
